Galaeth Records Animations April/May


During the last days of April and the entirety of May, i made some progress on the animations of the game, mostly on the actions the main character will be performing. I finally added a walk animation that has a total of 5 frames, after that i went back to the other key frames i started back when i first uploaded the game on this platform, mainly focusing on the attack and jump actions. I ended up having a lot of trouble with the jump animation mainly because i couldn't properly draw the frames when the main character crouches to perform the jump. To make my life easier, i got rid of the first ideas i had for this animation and went on to draw a total of 3 frames using smears to make it look snapier and faster, which helped me save a lot of time. 

for the attack animation the only thing that was truly important was to communicate the size of the hitbox with the animation. To do so, i drew the active frames of the attack with a smear that follows only the sword. This smear was made to show the player which parts of the animation can damage the enemies. I had a lot of fun while drawing this.
