The rise of the Crow! August 2023



This phase consisted only of making a new enemy that would make the experience both better and tougher. The hardest thing here was making the flapping animation, as I don't completely understand the anatomy of birds and the way they move their wings. After getting a few references of crows flying, I finally started animating the next enemy of Galaeth Records. The biggest obstacle were the wings, so most of my focus went into this aspect of the animation, and even though it took a couple of days to complete, the movement i created in the end looked great, but having most of my attention on the flapping ended up being a little counterproductive in other parts of the animation.  That being said, the crow had to be implemented into the game as soon as possible to make sure it will be ready for the play testing that will take place a couple of weeks later, so the animation was left untouched. 

The behavior of this enemy follows the same logic as the moving platforms, with the only difference being that the crows have a collision that, obviously, will harm the player once they make contact.  The biggest issue this new addition has is that it will probably cause many problems to my players as the main character doesn't have invincibility after being damaged.
